Marina Merzig: Base of the Linssen yachts

Hello Yachtcharter Holiday Tours Team!

First of all, we would like to thank you for the very good boat briefing. Without time pressure and stress. It has been an honor for me to maneuver a Linssen yacht and I was very happy about it. It is an absolutely unique experience to steer such a “well-intentioned” boat. There is a very marked difference between a GRP boat and a steel boat.

The water area was very challenging, varied and worth seeing. The Moselle region with its many vineyards is unique. We were also impressed by the good and clean harbors we visited. Very environmentally friendly organization and customer-friendly. Despite the weather not always being so nice, it was unique and an experience that took me further in terms of navigation and my experience. The reception after the cruise, what more can I say. Simply warm and beautiful. So two very interesting and entertaining weeks come to an end. I will benefit from this for a long time to come and can always draw new energy from it mentally.

Greetings from Switzerland Your J.W. and family

Spacious, modern and centrally located – ideal starting point

Our home port is located in the middle of the idyllic landscape of the Saarland. Downstream you have a romantic and fast connection to the Moselle. Upstream you have the connection to the French canal system.

The journey by car is easy and comfortable. The port is located directly at the Merzig exit of the A8 freeway. The train station in Merzig is only 1 km away.

From the marina Merzig on the Saar(Yachthafen Merzig) round trips, one-way trips, week, weekend or even day trips on the Saar, Moselle, Lahn, Rhine, the French canals, the Saar Canal and the Rhine-Marne Canal are possible.

Saar and Moselle have a very low current and relatively little commercial navigation. Sailing from the marina in Merzig in the direction of Saarbrücken, the commercial shipping ends directly in Dillingen. After that you will have the river to yourself. This is especially ideal for novice drivers. The high-quality Linssen yachts are excellent to maneuver with a lot of driving fun with 2 persons easily and with only one center line well. This provides a lot of safety on board.

Except on the Rhine, there is no radio obligation in the wider area. The radiotelephone certificate UBI is of course advantageous. The skipper, who does not yet have a radiotelephony certificate, is equally well on his way and helps himself by telephone. There is no obligation to register. However, by contacting them, a good and efficient coordination takes place. This allows for speedy passage.

Beautiful marinas and harbors await you as a guest in the scenically unique wine regions of Saar and Moselle.

The success of each cruise is our priority. We will be happy to provide you with all the information you need to plan your trip. Please contact us.

Experience and enjoy our varied area with beautiful marinas and harbors, with pure nature, large bathing lakes, small and large towns and the unmistakable unique wine region along the Saar, Moselle, the Känalen and the places where “savoir vivre” is lived, culture and history can be seen and felt in passing.
